Obsession

Obsession β€” a scheme by which you return again and again
to where something was supposed to happen.

Form of bodily memory. Not an argument. Trembling.
It is not benevolent, but constant.
Each attempt β€” not new, but inevitable.
You do it again because the body cannot let go.

The work β€” is a side effect of refinement, not created,
but arising as a result of the recurring need to check.

Form arises where there was an attempt to simply not make a mistake.
You fix the deviation.
Not what you wanted β€” what prevents forgetting.

You return.
Not for correction. For repeated contact.
You reassemble.
Like a matryoshka that becomes foreign with each assembly.

You continue.
Until you begin to split not the object, but yourself as observer.

Obsession gives rhythm.
Not necessarily healthy, but a rhythm you can lean on.

Disassembly β€” is assembly at another level.
Assembly β€” is a pretext for the next disassembly.
With each iteration, the distance between act and analysis decreases.
Between gesture and its scheme.

In the space of solitude, obsession β€” is internal discipline.

Internal risks

  • Expansion of the cycle to infinity.
  • Loss of the original motive.
  • Replacement of feelings with structure.
  • Disappearance.

If you disappeared β€” start the cycle again. Now you are part of the tool.

Exit from the cycle

Not provided.
Failure is possible.
But failure β€” is proof that you are still in the process.

Obsession does not let go until it becomes:

  • either completely clear,
  • or completely unbearable.
