Obsession and Cosmos
Chaotic cosmos breaks consciousness protection.
Art β is consent to become a channel for this invasion.
Obsession as cosmos breakthrough
Consciousness builds order, fences itself with rules, filters, norms.
Obsession β is the moment when chaotic, uncontrollable cosmos (unthought) finds a loophole and infiltrates.
The artist here β not author, but receiver of cosmic interference.
Obsession as filter sabotage
Consciousness constantly "forgets," "gets used to," "doesn't pay attention" to protect itself from overload.
Obsession breaks this filter.
What should have disappeared, remains.
What consciousness should have repressed, returns.
Art β is the place where the repressed is allowed to settle.
Obsession as anti-memory
Instead of linear memory (passed β forgot β moved on) obsession creates a time funnel, spinning the same event or image.
This is resistance to chronopolitics:
- instead of progress β cycle,
- instead of "new" β mutation in repetition.
Obsession as language mutation
Usually language describes, fixes, "lets go."
But in obsession, language doesn't have time to work through the image β it gets stuck, repeats, stumbles.
It is in this glitch that is born:
- other word,
- other form,
- other speech.
Obsession as inhuman
Obsession often feels like something "not mine":
"this thought pursues me",
"this image holds me".
In this sense, it's already alien, inhuman.
Art becomes a meeting point of subject and this inhuman impulse.
